Why do people like climbing at Red Rocks?

[but last winter here was miserable, one of the wettest ever... and bone dry since Spring]

 * Just a thought: Red Rocks must be pretty awesome if Alex Honnold and a handful of other pros picked Las Vegas as a residence to have RR be in their backyard haha!

There's not much water for SLC, Phoenix, or LA either.  The entire Western US is severely water deficient for such population densities.  The entire urban West, technically, is an "environmental atrocity".  LA being the epicenter, literally stealing their water to exist.  And as it gets warmer each year and droughts longer water is going to become an even more critical issue.  For everyone out West.

So check that condescension and recognize you aint no saint, either.  ;)

Funny story, I was being heavily recruited to join a software firm in LV, and they flew me out to LV and before we even landed at McCarren I knew my answer was going to be a big fat NO EFFING WAY.  It is in the middle of a desert...people weren't meant to live in the desert, at least not in the numbers that are there.

I am from Minnesota where we get a good amount of rain, and everything is green (or white) and I would seriously miss that if I moved to the desert.  

I went to RR once.  It snowed.  It sucked.

I don't see where I was bragging about anything. Not my intention.  Mea Culpa. And I have no hate for anyplace, just would find living there pretty oppressive.

Everyone has biases dude. My mom hates the cold so she lives in Phoenix. If you are used to green trees and lakes(not reservoir), LV would be a very poor choice.

Post your send updates in a livestream to this thread so we know which is softer, RR or you! Pitch by pitch, anything.

Personally, I’m more concerned with the route quality than the diamond-level hardness of the locals’ junk.

Honestly, I’m usually let down by the level of reported softness of climbing areas. I has the sad when I can’t artificially inflate my climbing grade.

I know people that see the juice out and about playing golf. Fuck I'm glad he doesn't climb, probably can't with that arthritis.

When I first read this (not thoroughly:) I thought it meant same day at Red Rock and I thought: ooooo the shitstorm that follows is going to be fun!
