Come give some love to south side of Seal Rock! The FCC is looking for volunteers for our trail day next Saturday on October 20.
The FCC and the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) are conducting a trail maintenance project to repair the base and staging areas on the South Face of Seal Rock in the Flatirons.

The main event will be on Saturday, October 20th from 8am to 4pm, but volunteers are also needed for Tuesday, October 16th from 10am to 4pm and on Thursday, October 18th from 12pm to 4pm.

Site preparation and staging of materials and tools will take place on Tuesday and Thursday. The bulk of the work will be conducted on Saturday.

An FCC t-shirt will be handed out to all volunteers and free lunch will be provided (indicate if there are any dietary restrictions).

We are canceling the Tuesday event due to snow in the area and the risk of melting ice fall.  We are still on for Thursday and Saturday.

Thanks to all the volunteers that participated on Thursday and Saturday.

In total 19 volunteers (15 Saturday and 4 on Thursday) participated in the event taking personal time away from prime climbing conditions. The trail at the entrance of the crag was regraded and bolstered against water run off, stone steps were added to direct traffic and belay platforms were built underneath several climbs.  The work was directed by OSMP.

It was good to see a wide range of volunteers from the youngest at 12 (Nate) to many veterans of these trail projects.  Also kudos to Seal Rock route developers for coming out.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
