Starting to get into the climbing photography realm, I have a pretty beginner camera, canon rebel t5, any lenses that anyone would recommend I should get?

Maybe $300-$400 or below would be best

Get a Canon EF-S 18-135 (link below) it is a great lens to begin with and then become better with.  It produces incredible sunflairs and is sharp.  Also below is the link to my Instagram (shameless plug), most of the photos on there were taken with this lens including all of the climbing photos.  I hate switching lenses while jugging.  Feel free to ask me any questions.

The 18-135 is not that sharp...

But look into any sort of zoom telephoto (since the kit lens takes care of anything closer). Hell for $300-$400 you could even snag a first gen rough exterior condition 70-200 F4 L

Don't bother with getting lenses new. There is an OCEAN of used glass out there that is a fantastic deal. https://photography-on-the.net/forum/ is the best place to find used Canon lenses.

The issue I have with the 70-200 is that with an APS-C it becomes a 112-320 which is so telephoto. The 18-135 becomes a ~28-216 which covers everything.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
