green river Utah:: underrated
|
the mid-way point between SLC and Moab, or other southern Utah desert destinations.. a common gas stop.. and for so long and for many others it seems like the main food option is gas station snacks and/or Arby's (ew). On a somewhat recent trip it was discovered that about 3/4 of a mile off the exit towards "town" there is a pretty good Mexican restaurant called La Veracruzana run by a really friendly family. The local coffee shop isn't bad either. maybe y'all already know this, or its arbitrary, but I was pretty excited to figure it out so if it helps 1 person... cool. |

Ray’s burgers are really damn tasty though and the ambiance is very climber/river or desert rat oriented. And they have beer. |

There's a decent thrift shop too you can find some wonky stuff in too. |

The John Wesley Powell Museum is worth checking out if you are into the Colorado River, or history of the west, or just learning things in general. |

Green Rivers melons....num.... |

La Pasadita is by far the highlight of this town. Also, there's apparently pretty exciting downhill biking in the surrounding Bookcliffs. |

there's a nice little park / boat ramp that makes a good place to toss the stick for your pup. makes a nice stop to get out and stretch the legs. |

Tamarisk right on the river is also a great spot if you feel like going all in on a good meal. |

Ah yes Tamarisk, "put the 'risk back into dining out". |

I thought Hanksville was gonna be the new MoWab. |
