The Gunks Climbing Film Festival

Come celebrate climbing, conservation and the passion of the Gunks community!

Friday, October 5th - 6-8pm - Climber's Reception
Festivities will begin with a Free Climbers’ Reception at the Mohonk Preserve Visitor Center on Friday, Oct. 5 from 6-8 p.m. The event will include a screening of the Patagonia film Mountain of Storms, which documents the 1968 road trip adventure of Yvon Chouinard, Doug Tompkins, Dick Dorworth, Chris Jones, and Lito Tejada-Flores, who embarked on a 5,000-mile journey from California to Patagonia to put up a new route on the rarely attempted Cerro Fitz. There will also be a raffle of Patagonia, Rock and Snow, and Preserve gear, and complimentary refreshments.

Saturday October 6th at 6:00pm: Film Fest!
We will be premiering this year's No Man's Land Film Collection, film that are un-defining what it means to be a woman in Adventure, Sport & Film!
Also being featured is the full-length film Dirtbag: The Legend of Fred Beckey. The American "dirtbag" mountaineer whose name is legend around climbing campfires. This rebel climber's pioneering ascents and lifestyle form an iconic legacy that continues to inspire generations.
Our incredible Sponsors - Rock and Snow, Furnace Industries, The Cliffs, Patagonia, BC's Climbing Gym & Time to Climb have come in to help make this event possible this year. Prior to the screening, the Gunks Grunt Pull-up Contest sponsored by Furnace Industries will be held to test the mettle of attendees with prizes for top male and female winners.
