We're getting a bit semantic here, but I'm not counting "distance above bolt" as "slack", and the equation I wrote doesn't work if you do. The way I'm describing it, you have 10 feet of slack out, and you are 5 feet above the bolt. Regardless, I think we're on the same page now. And I agree that clipping from a lower stance can be more dangerous in some situations, but the reason (as others have noted) is that you are falling lower, not farther.
