Ok it appears as though BD doesn't make ABS plates for my sabretooth crampons anymore. Pre-2004 I think, black paint not the silver ones. I can make them like I've read about on a few other forums, or I can use a 40% coupon to buy a new set from BD. However I would like to spend that 40% on other needful things, so has anybody ever made ABS plates and didyoudie?

Your home made plates probably won't be the reason you die...  Use the coupon on something else.

Use duct tape. It works better than any commercial ABS plate I've ever used.

The only downside is that you'll need to remake them every season (depending on how much you use them).

Seriously, duct tape.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
