Hi there,
I'd like to give a try to Independence Pass this summer. Is there any guidebook somewhere (bouldering only)?
Any other closeby area you would recommend ?

Thanks!
Gaby

Try Benningfields CO bouldering guides.Much bouldering between Leadville and Salida

While working in Salida in the summers, I used the Bob Horan statewide bouldering guide. That, and the Perkins guide has bouldering and routes (fun!) between Aspen and Independence Pass.

Bob Horan's guide is a joke! Dude went places, took pictures and lists boulder problems that he never climbed or touched, and no one ever did.  NO ONE should EVER buy that book PERIOD!

There's more rock than you can shake a stick at in every direction from Indy.
I'll 2nd Mike's recommendation for Benningfield's book!

  • A new bouldering guidebook is in the works, wont be out by summer unfortunately. There is beta here on MP. I recommend the James Brown area and the World of Hurt (husky boulder) as must visit!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
