Maple Canyon conditions - is it open?

I saw that the campground doesn’t open until May 8th, but was wondering if the road is open.  Any insight on accessibility and conditions would be much appreciated.

Thanks.  Anybody been there recently that can comment on conditions?

We were there on Sunday, April 1st.  The gate was still closed right before the bridge area and that limits the camping to three or four locations in the lower canyon and makes it a bit of a hike to the upper canyon.  We found very little snow, just a few few scatter snowbanks in shady spots.  The last snow patches are going fast.  The rock was dry and the climbing was good.  We didn't hike beyond the main canyon, but I suspect that conditions further up are similar.  There may be a few climbs with muddy belay areas or a patch or two of snow, but they are going to be the exceptions.

Just FYI - made it down to Maple last week, and the gate was open, so access was no problem.
