Black Canyon North Rim Gates

When do the gates typically open? 

Well, the Nat'l Park website says mid April. I seem to remember it opening earlier last year with a similar dry March, but I can't recall exactly when. I'd like to know too when it opens this year, so please post if you hear/see something.

An update: We went on Saturday. The road was totally passable and pretty dry, but the gate is not open. I can't imagine it will stay closed for much longer.

Maybe Friday midday. FYI 

The North Rim gate will open for the season starting late tonight (Thursday).  The weather looks fantastic for the foreseeable future:
