Hey MP.

Long story short: I emailed Nalgene for a replacement lid (mine broke) and they accidentally shipped me a box of maybe 400-500 (?!) blue lids.

Anyone in need of these?

(I already reached out to Nalgene to let them know about their mistake and they said: "Please feel free to keep as many caps as you may need and donate or dispose of the rest of them." I refuse to "dispose" of them, and I can only justify having, like, three extras lying around.)

Make an offer? I don't know. This whole situation is just weird, and I really don't want to have hundreds of lids sitting around.

Cheers.

I know where you can donate them. Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron NM. They would be warranted and used quickly.

Kinda like the time I asked Black Diamond for a single replacement rear headlamp clip for my helmet and they sent me 16.

Hang on, let me email them about the clear part breaking on my bottle...

I bet you could donate them to your local gear repair shop

No one will be able to top it!

400-500.... Sounds like they made a liddle mistake.

... and to cap it off, they told me to "dispose" of the extras!

My dog just chewed the lid off mine two days ago, this is kinda cool that I just happened to look.   Can I paypal you a few bucks to send me a few lids?

Same deal... my dogs keep getting the lids. Only the part that attaches the lid to the bottom is ever destroyed. I’ve purchased several and finally just gave-up.

but i’ll Buy several if the price is decent. $1 each?

Also on board for small quantity lots if you decided to split it up. Maybe have lots of 10 for a few bucks and buyer pays shipping on a flatrate envelope, 2 months from now, donate the rest to BSA

Congrats on your new title, m'lord. However, lest you overstep your bounds, it would be prudent to bear in mind that in the hierarchy of nobility on MP, the Lid Lord still owes fealty to the Wang Lord. Tread lightly!

Why does this remind of "The Prestige"?

Lid-friends,

Sorry for the slow responses.

I am waiting to hear back from a couple folks (who represent non-profits and other rad causes) who reached out early on. If they don't take 'em all, I'd be happy to get them to the masses. (I'm hoping to avoid turning into a lid-dealer.)

Stay tuned.

Cheers.
