Any locals know if Cochise is open w the govt shutdown? Coming in from CA next weekend. Thanks!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I would highly doubt that it would be affected. There's not even a single bathroom and the road leading there off of the main highway is used by local residents. I'm sure you're fine.

You're good. The check point on the way out, won't close, that's for sure.

The west side does not have bathrooms or any fee campgrounds. If memory serves, there is a gate that could be closed.

The east side, on the other hand, has bathrooms---and a fee campground---but most climbers camp for free away from the campground.

I do not recall that anything closed in the 2013 shut down.

So I tend to agree that you are probably good to go.

Have fun!

Just got back from five days in Cochise, everything is normal there. Didn't even know the government shut down until we returned to civilization.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
