Just wanted to update. Petzl set me up with a new pair for free if anyone else is having the same problem.
That's good to hear! I've wondered about the potential problem for the future and wondered if Petzl would stand behind them or what. it's what these companies should do, it really galvanizes the customer/company relationship in my eyes. Makes for many a return and steady customer.
Yes I was surprised. The tools were made in 2011 therefore far beyond the 3 year warranty. They even let me keep my half used picks so I only sent the handles and they sent me new picks as well. I was happy.
