Humorous/Funny Climbing Videos
|
I searched MP Forums, YouTube, and Ms. Google but couldn't seem to come up with what I am looking for. Funny videos seemed to be scattered here and there on MP and not under a single unifying thread (as, Shirley, they ought to be!). Anyway, what got me poking around was that I would like to locate these two videos I remember from awhile back: 1) A satire on bold expedition climbing that was taped on The Freeway on the Second Flatiron in Boulder, CO (snow falling, an uncomfortable bivvie, maybe even a boat anchor involved), and... 2) The guy who used a massive steel chain for pro on his daring ascents on lead so he could clip in anywhere, anytime. If there is indeed a humor thread and I missed it, please gently guide me there. If not, I guess this could be the thread for funny climbing videos. (Meaning, videos made on purpose to be funny--not videos that become humorous ex post facto due to sheer stupidity or general bufoonery. And also realizing that "funny" can be quite relative.) |

https://m.youtube.com/watch?t=70s&v=22eYBNzHcWs These two guys send problems much harder than v3’s but this particular route is notorious for having a messy pine needle topout. Needless to say it’s a funny video. |

Monty Python, what a group of geniuses. Love those guys. They must have had a climber as consultant since they actually used the terms “layback” and “carabiner” in that sidewalk video. |

This is not strictly climbing, but I found this video a few years ago and it is hilarious! Also, in the desert of Arizona. |

And, thanks, Eli, for finding that second one! |
