If there was one bit of advice you would give to your younger self (with respect to climbing), what would it be?

Be careful of the landing on that boulder problem. That sprain is gonna really screw up your climbing for a while.

Start climbing 15 years earlier.

Don't boulder, people seem to sprain their ankle a lot.

Place more gear.

Give your tendons a chance to catch up with your muscles.

If I'm only allowed 1, per the OP, I would summarize as follows:

Balance your beginner's enthusiasm with the patience to learn slowly and correctly, so you have a long and healthy climbing career.

Start at least forty years earlier.

If they are lucky.

I have a friend that shattered his ankle requiring years off climbing and if he ever takes a bad fall again roped or otherwise he might not be able to walk anymore..

If you do anything high be careful.

Don’t fall into the role of ‘follower’ all the time - start leading earlier, even if it means your partner is climbing well below their limit (don’t feel like you’re messing up their day)

Don’t burn the candle at both ends. Take some ‘rest days’ off and take care of your body.

The mountain ain’t going anywhere.

You can have an ego, but don't let it control you.

Don't spend so much money at strip clubs.  They don't really like you.  They're just flirting to get more cash.

Seeing the world via climbing trips is not a waste of money.

Don’t hit that drop. It’s called a one hit wonder for a reason!

Just marry her already.

You’re half Indian half Irish.. don’t start partying!

Save your money. Dream about climbing everyday in your 50s not in your 20s

Climb more work less. Stability is over rated and you are only young once.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
