This post is not intended to be taken too seriously. Route difficulty is very subjective. In my case, I often struggle on overhanging and reachy sequences.
That said, 12a is a special difficulty rating for a lot of us. There's something thrilling about sending a route in the "5.12" category. Here are my musings about some AF 12a routes:
Easier side: Beckoning Call (wireable), 26 (bouldery but brief), Liquid Oxygen (if you stay left at the second bolt, staying right way harder), Field of Screams (a little sporty), Mandela (2 move crux)
Mid-range: Gordon's Linkup, Pocket Debris (many think soft but not me!), Gateway, Orogeny (bouldery), Naked Nebula (not my strength)
Hard: Teeanova, Bringer of Light, Route 66, Step Right Up
In LCC I thought Cool Your Jets was soft 12a (but awesome) and All Chalk was hard 12a (but awesome). Logan and Maple have a ton of 12's and I'd be interested to see someone else's list there.
This is just, like, my opinion, man.
