I'm planning a trip this Saturday up to the Ski Pond area for some alpine fun. I'm hoping this last snow made it possible to slap the skins on and ski in. Does anyone have knowledge of trail conditions?
The winter ski trail up to the Loch/Mills Lake junction is not broken yet, too much open water on the stream. Same for the winter ski trail up to the Loch along Icy Brook. You will have to ski the hiking trail. It is hard packed ice at the beginning (I am guessing up to Alberta Falls). The fire trail is packed snow with some rocks sticking out. Once you reach the Loch/Mills Lake junction things get much better. There is deep unpacked snow cover above the Loch. The Loch is still not safe to cross.
