Trying to plan a family ski trip. Due to kids school last week of March is the only reasonable time. For a variety of reasons crested butte seems to make the most sense. My question is are the conditions even worth the trip that time of year?

Historically, march is the snowiest month of the year for Colorado.  The conditions could be amazing, and the temps are a little more mild.  Occasionally, there is a heat wave (highs in the 40's or even 50's) which makes for great spring skiing.  You'll have a blast either way.

Venerally spring is the best time to go in SW Colorado,as theres a seasons worth of snow on the ground
