Hello, I just climbed outside for the first time two days ago and I'm already addicted to the different style than in the gym. I would like to start climbing sport. So my question is what is the best place to learn sport in virginia

This isn't so hard to do now is it?  Sorry I couldn't resist the urge.

Well, Daniel sorta gave you some answers to start with.

Look for gym to crag classes at the climbing gyms, or perhaps local college outdoor programs.

You can also just post on here that you are hopelessly addicted and need a mentor for outside climbing.

Frank would add, reasonably, you can hire a guide and learn a ton, safely and in a hurry.

Oh. And wave goodbye to a "normal" life.

Best, OLH

1) Spend a day with a guide or take a structured course to learn the technical aspects and how to evaluate equipment, partners, etc...

2) Find a mentor or more experienced friends to get the mileage in & build your confidence

3) When you're ready to start leading, repeat steps 1 and 2

dont take it as me being a dick (i was tring to be funny, we all started out as beginners),  I dont get that many opportunities to use Let Me google this for you these days.

Honestly take a look at Meet-Up.com.  That site lead me to a local group of climbers who taught me a ton of what I know, now im a leader of the group sharing my limited knowledge with new comers to this lifestyle.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
