Not much detail in article. Anyone know what happened? Climber seriously injured?

Yeah, not much info.  Maybe someone will post up.  Nothing on Rocky Mountain Rescue site either, even though they were there.

I think BCC is a place in Utah, Big Cottonwood Canyon, not Boulder.

I meant BC. Thanks for correcting me

Hope the climber is doing OK.

The Owl is a tricky old-school route.  5.7 R. Not to be underestimated.  Took my first real leader fall out of the crack moves onto a red camalot, maybe 12 years ago?

Sounded from the news article like he wasn't seriously injured, so hope that's the case.

The Owl is a major sandbag at 5.7 and I flailed pretty badly the only time I ever climbed it. Tricky is right.

I don't think the owl is R climbing. it is tricky and the move out to the chickenheads is spicy but the gear is there when you need it.

Been a long time since I climbed it but I don't remember it being runout. I do remember thinking "5.7 my a**" as I scraped my way up. Never climbed it a 2nd time.

I've climbed Cozyhang many times and the Owl seemed much harder (both are sandbags, IMO)

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
