Unique cam design

I found this little gem at a goodwill in the Seattle area. Might be a diy project, or it could be an early prototype. Has anyone seen one of these before? |
|
This is honestly awesome. 10/10 would not trust. |

Steampunk cam |

Good find in terms of historical gear. It is a CCH Trigger Cam made by Dave Waggoner in the mid/late 80s. CCH made Aliens as well. |
|
it's one of the early alien prototypes |

The three lobe cam is from Metolius, the four lobe cam on the left is a first or second generation #1 Friend. The other four lobe cam #1/2 is I think by Steve Byrne who started Wired Bliss. |
|
nice find dude. I wish I was lucky enough to find this stuff at a thrift store |

Woah!! Sweet find man. I once found a figure8 belay device for 99cents in the silverware bins at a goodwill. |

Skye Swoboda-Colberg, if you ever part with the small four cam unit (with a blue tape) on the right of the fourth photograph, it would be a great addition to the Nuts Museum here in Corsica ;-) http://www.needlesports.com/content/nuts-story-clockwork-friends.aspx CCH Trigger Cams (1986) Canadian Alpine Manufacturing CABLE CAM's (1986) D. Old climbing gear is certainly something I've never though to look for at goodwill... |
