Crag Recommendations

Hi!

I'm a 19 year old Coloradan on a solo van trip around the west before starting college. I'm in the PNW for a couple weeks (attempting Rainier July 18-19, at Smith Rock right now).  I'm trying to become comfortable enough to lead trad, so I'm basically trying to meet knowledgeable people who I can follow.  Fan of all climbing, but trying to focus on trad for the learning purposes.

Please let me know if you have any ideas or recommendations for crags! Never been anywhere in the PNW but Seattle...

If you have your passport, go into Canada and spend some time at Squamish.  It's gorgeous, amazing granite, beautiful splitter cracks everywhere.  Trad paradise, can't recommend highly enough.

Go to Leavenworth. 

Second Squamish.  Just the Smoke Bluffs alone has more quality climbing than entire other states (cough cough Alaska cough cough).  Also check out Area 44 and the Pillary.  Not trad climbing, but amazing climbing nonetheless.
