Metolius FS II mini biners-gear or keychains?

Unclipping with small biners is difficult.  I'm just starting trad, but am finding the nano size is a bit frustrating unclipping from the harness (shoulder sling) and clip a rope into.  Clipping an extension (sling) is fine once the pro is on the wall.
