Just read about this on pinkbike. From nh, but spend a bunch of time in this part of utah every year. I will be sending emails as it would be a shame to ruin this beautiful landscape.

The article was saying it was near the og rampage site, so in virgin. Sounds like it would be seen from the road into springdale.

The second link has email addresses to the people on the blm commission.

Lets stop this!

Here's a map of the proposed parcels:

Flying Monkey trail is included in the area near Virgin. Adding deadline for public comments is 10 Feb.

If you're planning to write in, it's worth actually reading the BLM impact assessment's sections of interest as a talking point. Their assertions of no impact are very hand-wavy when it comes to things like recreation and tourism.

I attended the BLM Q&A for this last night and put together a summary on how best to phrase comments based on the BLM rep's suggestions. Some valid concerns raised at the meeting around the adequacy of the Environmental Assessment are also highlighted.

tl;dr Keep your comments objective and focus on the merits of the Environmental Assessment.

[Edited to reflect extended deadline.]

Deadline for comments is 9 March at 4:30pm Mountain Time.

The proposal has been deferred, after the BLM received 40K mostly negative comments. Thanks to all who took the time to write in.
