Joshua Tree Question

My wife and I may have a few extra hours near Joshua Tree on an upcoming trip. Are there any good boulders with some easier climbs (v0-v4) that don't require a long drive/ approach? We would be entering the park from the south entrance off the highway 10.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

There are an overwhelming amount of boulders that fit that description. With that said V0-V4 is Josh can be pretty on point so I would be ready to deal with that.  I would consider at least perusing through a guidebook to come up with a general vicinity that you want to check out.

The heart of the climbing in the park is about an hour from the south entrance. If that's not too far, then yes, there's lots of easy boulder problems, most with minimal approach.

"It is quite a long drive from the south entrance of the Park to HVCG.... maybe 35-45 min driving."

You must be PUSHING your vehicle, because it for damned sure doesn't take that long to drive in. (Unless there are a million cars in front of you)

LOL!

You could also hit the Tram if you've got a little more time to kill.  If you're wed on Josh, there's plenty around HVCG, the Outback or around Turtle Rock.

Frank,

My sense of direction is second to none.

That said, I was thinking of the West entrance.
