To the local asshole who marred Glitter Gulch

What gave you the right to spray the fact that you think that Glitter Gulch is "10.c" (btw I think you means 5.10c) by defacing the start of the climb by writing the grade on it? If you want to call it 5.10c than do so here, NOT on the rock itself. Not only is it an eyesore, it might be dangerous to a new 10c leader. I was told this one done by a local and IF that's true, it saddens me deeply; IMHO It's unethical and pompous. 

Aren't u supposed to be a coupla pitches up ginger cracks by now?!?....... ;)

btw .... completely agree with you , not sure what possess's people to carry spray paint into such beautiful areas ....

Do you have a picture? Like was is actually spray painted on the wall of is that just reading to much into it?

I didnt take a picture nor said it was spray painted. But since when is it ok for community members to write ANYTHING on our rocks? If you don't like the way a climb is graded does any single person have the right to write the new grade on the climb itself?  It's unethical and dangerous to a leader breaking into that grade. And it's disgusting to  think a climber would would do this in an area that doesn't promote this ( unless we now are promoting this)  I get in some areas it's acceptable to write the name of the climb/grade at its base...but is this now acceptable practice here at RR?( rhetorical obviously)

I asked if it was spray paint because in your first post you said "spray" and Big B said "spray paint" ... I didn't know if he misinterpreted you meaning or if he was expanding on it cause he had seen it aswell ... idk that's why I asked.

So what was it written with ? Chalk ? Did they use a marker or like scratch it into the rock or something?

Pretty sure they were just bored. The Hueco masks are probably the ancient equivalent to a street artist drawing caricatures. If you look up what the graffiti in Pompeii means, you'll see that people haven't changed.

Sounds to me like you are continuing to dodge the question. If it's chalk, it's lame but not some atrocity. Even if it is spraypaint, fucking lame, but par for the course.

Expecting to have a wilderness experience sport cragging at Red Rock is akin to expecting romance out of something you could watch on PornHub.
