Petzl Djinn Steel Axess Quickdraw
|
So I found a set of these on Amazon and I'm curious are these good |
|
For projecting sport routes they are a good deal. I'm not really sure why you think a carabiner that has had fairly extensive reviews with a mallion and the standard sling attached is worth a new thread. |

Ok thank u |

My point is proven by a quick google search: http://www.outdoorgearlab.com/Quickdraw-Reviews/Petzl-Djinn-Axess http://squamishclimbingmagazine.ca/gear-review-petzl-djinn-axess-quickdraw/ http://www.splitterchoss.com/2014/07/17/petzl-djinn-axess-quickdraw-review/ https://nextadventure.net/blog/gear-review-petzl-djinn-quickdraw/ http://www.rockandice.com/quickdraw-review/petzl-djinn-axess-quickdraw That's page 1 on google and reviews continue on page 2 and there's even a reddit post about on page 3, so why make a new thread about something that has huge amounts of information out there on it already, even if you don't want to leave the wonderful world of MP there's a post on here specifically about the djinn vs the spirit and another thread talking about projecting draws with several people vouching for the steel Djinn. |

Dunno about no Djinn's, but I know someone suggested getting one of these to use for the first draw on sport routes - https://www.backcountry.com/trango-blue-steel-quickdraw - and it's one of those mini-optimizations that's not necessary, but I like. Dudes in the 70s probably went climbing with a rack of like 30+ steel draws. Hard men, they were, for sure. |

I have a set of those Trango draws that Sean mentions for anchor draws....not horrifically heavy, and worthwhile to not have the wear on the anchor draws be as substantial as it can be. Rack in the back and bam, no big deal. I also use the Trango React quickdraw as a primary set and they kick ass. Have been pleasantly surprised by the durability and quality of their product....comparable, imo, to the djinn and spirit draws. |
