Are these the ones that zip out into a blanket / quilt?

are these 30+ years old?

Yes they are. Distinctly vintage without much use. Look near like they just came off the store shelf. Rare to find outdoor clothing from that era in this condition. In those days, most if not all, down filled expedition wear was double offset quilt construction to eliminate/reduce cold spots. Baffle construction had not yet been used to any great extent in parka's and pants. In sleeping bags, yes. None the less they are still lighter than most current expedition pants. Marmots 8000 meter pant weighs 2lb, 1oz.. Which, by the way, is currently on sale from Marmot for 50% off........$275.00.
