33g 1.2 oz
21mm gate opening

Same weight as a WC Helium (33g, 27mm). Same gate opening as a BD OZ but heavier (22mm, 28g).

At least the nose should fit through even the smallest piton heads, the OZ and even the Helium can both be a pain sometimes.

Would have thought they could make it a bit lighter to match the OZ, the Camp Photon is quite impressive at 29g for a full size biner (28mm gate).

Has anyone had the chance to handle one?

the gate looks like a safety pin turned sideways

Ha also probably worth noting is the price!
At $15 it makes everything but DMM look like budget picks. BD Oz is $9. Helium around $14.

I can just see this opening way too easily when rubbing on the rock or another piece of equipment.
I look for the carabiner nose protecting a wire gate from opening, this is the complete opposite...

Good point on gate opening when rubbing. Hopefully they ran a higher gate tension than on the photons.

It does have an impressive 11k open strength though.

I used a bunch of these carabiners while ice climbing in Canada this weekend - they are awesome!

Heliums can be found for half that if you dig around a little.

At MEC, the WC Helium 2 are $43.00 CAD each ($32.83 USD), add 5% federal tax and deduct 15% when you buy 5+ gives you $14.65 USD/each.
Once upon a time MEC had good prices :(

GearX has the QDs for $26.95

So $32.83 + 5% and minus 15% equals $14.65????? In Washington DC that's called "alternative math".

But more to the point:

$43.00 CAD per quickdraw! = $32.83 USD
32.83 - 15% (4.9245) = 27.9055
27.9055 + 5% (1.395275) = 29.30078
$29.30 per QD = $14.65 per biner

I was starting to think I was going crazy there

TrekkInn - I didn't "need" more heliums but at this price...

You won't get them in 2 days but I've had 100% positive from the "Inns". The amount of Castelli/Sportful I've purchased from them is ridiculous.
