Frey and Chalten in late December/early January

I'm currently in Bariloche (Frey area). Will probably be here until the first or second week of January, when I'll head down to El Chaltén. If you're in the area and want to climb, let me know!

Flying into Santiago on the 5th, and will be heading straight to Frey.

Looking to climb in Frey for a week or two, then head to Chalten.

Just out of curiosity, how are you guys traveling from Santiago to Bariloche? I'm looking to go to Cochamo in just over a week. Can easily fly to Santiago, but to get to Bariloche requires going through Buenos Aires?? This doesn't make much sense to me

Hey Jeff, I'm busing from Santiago to puerto montt and then to Bariloche from there. There are flights from Santiago as well.

sky airlines flies about 3x per day from Santiago to Temuco, Chile. cost varies from $50-150 one way. (I dont know why the difference in cost yet). and buses from Temuco, chile to Bariloche, Argentina are approx. $20-50 o/w.

I'm in Chalten now. Let me know if anyone is here looking to climb something.

In Bariloche 1/14-1/29 or so, free in afternoons and weekends to climb. No ropes or racks, sadly.
