What a way to bring in the new year! Super fun, gear eating, STEEP, mixed line to a hanging 'cicle just south of Zenith.

Hey, I'm planning to spend a weekend climbing around Banks Lake some time soon. What kind of gear would you recommend for this route (cams, nuts, pitons)? I've never climbed in the area, but the line looks great and I'll definitely try to repeat it.

Hi Craig,

Nicely done--I thank you and Derek for adding to the wealth of lines at Banks Lake and surrounding areas. I am sure I speak for many when I express my appreciation for your doing so. Over the years I have often heard it said that if someone can climb ice at Banks that same someone can climb ice anywhere. This adage is all due to the technical and featured nature of Bank's ice. I congratulate you both--you overcame typical Bank's technical ice and put up another line. Keep up the good work.

Cheers,

Bob Loomis, Spokane, WA.
