How does one lose and carry on? Just over ten years ago I lost my friend who introduced me to the family of climbing when he passed away in a rappelling accident and last year I was very close to a friend who died in a similar circumstance. I want to live and follow our dreams. What is people's experience, strength and hope with this?

I'm sorry I don't have any similar personal experiences. I did stumble upon an interesting collection of articles dealing with this issue at americanwhitewater.org. If you google for "American whitewater dealing with loss" you can find them. Though not climbing specific, I feel they might be pertinent. I hope you find the help you need somewhere.
