I am looking for a good place for me and my friend to go lead climbing in the central coast area. I am around a 5.10-5.10d level while she is only around a 5.8. But I enjoy any level and will try anything.
I live in Santa Maria. I have been looking at ojai area mainly.

Any suggestions?

Ojai, Wheelers gorge has some pretty solid sport climbs. If you have a little trad gear there is a spot just a short hike out of town "the foot" where you can do some good leads. Derrydale cliff up the 33 has at least one really solid sport line and some more trad. There's some little crags in the montecito area too that I've never personally checked out. From what I hear SLO is pretty solid

Bishop peak in SLO. Also check out Hwy166/Silly Rock on here. It was fun when I lived in SLO awhile ago.

Chris,

This is a fun trad climbing area with easier climbs:

Also, I climb regularly at Bishop Peak in SLO. If you'd like a half day morning tour, give me a few days notice, and I'll show you around.
