Greetings all,
I've been looking to get into bouldering as a cheap activity and was wondering if there's any good resources for a beginner. As well if anyone knows of any great spots in the Barrie, ON area? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

GREAT! Bouldering is tons of fun. Buy yourself some climbing shoes and a chalk bag and start doing some research here on MP. Here's a link to your local area. Also, check out the Route Guide tab on MP for other climbs nearby.

Some boulders can be safely climbed without a crash pad or a spotter but a spotter makes life a whole lot better. And if you can afford a crash pad they are the bees knees for bouldering!

Harnesses are unfashionable. ;-)

Get a pad and go hiking. Boulderers are usually really friendly, especially if u add ur pad to the pile and help spot. Really tribal sport. Grab local guide books from your retailer or climbing gym. Bring post climb beers. Done!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
