Seen at the Gunks recently. Not a hex, not even aluminum. Maybe some flavor of that (Australian-made??) plastic chocks/nuts gear?

Looks well placed. Would clip.

What route was this on? There are those plastic nuts used in some places in Europe where they don't want to damage the rock... Maybe that's it?

I think it's an artificial heart valve.

I have some plastic nuts made by Mammut that are 1980s vintage. They are solid though, never seen hollow plastic nuts before not even in the Nuts Museum. I would say someone was having some fun especially given the cord and the fact that the "nut" has grove in it.

Yeah, I've had dogs long enough to recognize a beef bone when I see one.

That's very rare. . .

A vertical crack in the Gunks.

So you didn't booty it? Can you say where that is?

m( really where is that? I'll guess Mayor Of The Gunks )

If no one claimes it in lost & found,
That 'Nut' would bring money at the Rock & Snow Annex
consignment shop.

I was going to ask if it was a nut or a hex...but it looks like it only has four sides, so maybe it's a quex?

Wouldn't it just be called a square?

Definitely well placed. But I'm calling foul!

Does that have something to do with the note on the info station at the über Fall? Looks like the same cordage.

I'd clip it.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
