Hello Minnesota Climbers!
I'm going to be near Taylor's Falls later this summer. If I were to set up top ropes in the Keyhole Area or the Minnesota Strip, would I need gear or are there adequate trees/boulder/other crap to sling? I'm planning a trip and would like to be able to avoid bringing a rack if possible.

There are an abundance of trees and boulders, but bring a set of hexes if you can. Should be all that is needed in terms of trad pieces.

Do you think I could make do with some big stoppers? I don't actually own any hexes :(

if you have enough webbing, there are plenty of routes on the MN strip that can be set up by slinging rocks.

Thanks everyone! This is why I love this site.

Agreed, long webbing to sling boulders. Large hexes are usually about the only trad pro I use there.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
