Weather is not looking great this weekend. Where can you find some dry rock near SLC in this weather? Willing to drive a couple hours, lead sport up to 11a. Bouldering is nice too, up to V4. Thanks for all your help!

How far is a couple? St. George looks good to go.

Ah yeah, St George would be sweet, but dang, only got a short weekend this time. Maybe like a 2 hour radius

Watch the weather and see where it rains. Sometimes the West Desert gets a lot less rain and a spot like the Blob may not have been rained on when the Cottonwoods got drenched.

Or Maple Canyon might not get the rain. It can be chili there but might be dry.

Both are not far away from SLC. However, Fountain Green and Tooele look like they are getting rain Saturday so 2 hr radius? Not seeing it.

Joes Valley? Triassic? Swell if you have gear or partner that does.

Imo. Wake up earlier and drive a bit further.. lots of options within 4 hr drive. Make up on your sleep dep, during the week.

Thanks for the options everyone. Maple canyon doesn't look like a bad idea if we can figure out where the pipe dream wall is at.

Yeah, tempted to drive out further. Would love to make it to IC, seeing as how this is one of my last weekends in utah, but dang, I would feel bad climbing there even with the forecast at just 10%

Thanks again for the suggestions - you guys are brothers

Just thought I'd put in a suggestion for the next time it's rainy up north to anyone who hasn't been to the San Rafeal Swell before;
It was bone dry there this weekend while a huge chunk of northern state was getting doused and the drive wasn't bad at all. It's short enough to make on a single tank of gas from SLC without stopping.

We found a few awesome routes that didn't have runouts that seemed sketchy; Firebird and Fanny's Frolic were awesome.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
