2015-16 Colorado Ice Conditions

Anyone have a view on what the ice looked like this weekend in the Estes area? Taking a couple of newbies-- but have to drive eight hours to get there. Had thought about Hidden Falls. Open to other suggestions. Just concerned that the warm weather over the past few weeks may have decimated conditions and would hate to make the drive only to find nothing worth the time. I'd appreciate your views.

Hidden Falls was amazing today; wet but not picked out.

Hidden Falls is pretty fat right now, but a total staircase and completely hooked out. I wouldn't drive 8 hours for it under the best conditions.

Lincoln Falls is still OK. More brittle than it looks but all the low-angle stuff is soft.

Wow, not much snow. Usually by this time of year it is basically buried

I'm guess that has changed as of today and this upcoming week. WP and keystone got 14" and copper is at least 8".

Bad week to be working!

Wandered into Hidden Falls yesterday. Had it to ourselves. Still in fun shape, good for some laps and a nice day out. There is some NEW ice to the far left. The curtain is nice, fresh, new, blue ice. WI5, a little chandeliered, totally encased a tree up top. Fun.

Fat, wet, and easy. The curtain to the left and the flow to the right of the main flow are both still in.

Up at hidden falls today. Still in great shape. Hero ice right now. Every stick super solid. But it's very stepped out!

Any word on Lincoln Falls?

Was in RMNP on Friday/Saturday in Glacier Gorge. Reflections looked nice with a solid pillar formed on the right side. Black lake slabs are likely in fat given what reflections looked like.

Jewel lake ice slabs are also in for what it's worth.

Skied into the snowfield behind notch top last weekend and the flow at its base looks like it will be there for a long time.

Any word on Hidden Falls lately? Would like to give it one last try Sunday when all the Front Range rock gets shut down by the snow.

Climbed it a week ago, its the most in I've ever seen it (fat and hacked) and the main flows weren't even melting yet.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
