Glen Dawson, passed away last nite. He was 103. I was lucky to have made his acquaintance while working on the Stoney Point Video with my friends Cole Gibson and Matt. He let us into his home and showed us some of the most remarkable photos I have ever seen. He did more than just show us photos, he showed us himself- a true gentleman, warrior- 10th Mt Division, proud family man and good spokesman for all climbers.
Google his name and you will find a long list of historic climbs.
If you wish to know the climber Glen go to Tahquitz and go climb this one:
Time for some links. I was thinking last night about Glen and his life... I came to the conclusion that he was one of the first, in a long line of, California biased FUN HOGS.
I havnt seen the whole film yet, but here's the trailer for the Warren Miller doc about 10th Mountain. I've read that there is a fair bit about Dawson and other climber/skiers who enlisted or were recruited to the 10th.
