Anyone have first hand experience climbing on epi in January? Does the route get shade the entire day? Will it be arctic cold even on a 50 degree day? Do sections of the route get really wet or seep or even get icy? I Appreciate any information!

Brrrr.
Did it in May a few years ago. A little snow at the base and top. The route was clear but cold. No idea if it was a normal year or not.
Zak, first time I climbed Epi was in early Feb. The only issue was that the ramp that heads for the tree on the summit ridge was full of snow. We were in sneakers as I recall and that made the traverse in snow feel a bit exposed. It was in the middle of a regular Vegas winter as I recall and that was the only part of the route which had ice or snow. It was not too cold. Good luck with your trip.
I stole that link from the MP page for Black Vevlet. You can also use that to check the weather. Be advised that at this time of year, the entirety of the route is in the shade all day. Enjoy!
