Toe Delamination on La Sportiva Katana Lace.

No I didn't leave them in the Hot Car.

No, my footwork is not worse than when I started climbing. The 5.10s and evolvs I wore then definitely did not peel off like this despite very dramatic foot dragging and thrashing. I do those things less now.

The peeled off rubber is a little ragged, because I climbed on them a couple of times after the delamination started.

Just so you all know.

Its been a known issue for years and is fairly common

Sportiva knows and they dont care

Get em resoled ... A good resole will last longer and wont delaminate

;)

Yeah, I've seen it on the forums. Just thought there should be a clear post on MP with photos, for the record.

Can anybody recommend a re-soler who can keep the shape of my Katanas? so far, no shoe I've got back from a re-sole has maintained it's performance.

I have a pair of velcro katanas and they did the same thing! It really pissed my off after a handful of times climbing on them I already needed a resole... Anyway, I took mine to Locker at Positive Resoles and had toe caps put on and they have been champions ever since.

Good luck!

I have sportivas from like 15+ years ago that did that.

Does anyone know the number to rock and resole? haha

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
