Took the tools for a walk up to Pan Dome. Plenty of moisture lots of running water but not nearly cold enough. Low to mid 30's. Maybe 12 to 16 of inches of snow and a handful of back country skiers. Word is they should have the mountain open by next week.
Had some time on my hands so I drove up to Alpental yesterday. All of the main falls are still way out as posted on cascade climbers. There are a few promising lines forming on the opposite side of the main parking lot. Not sure what they were in the WA Ice guide. Looks to be 3 pitches of descent ice with the first two pitches definitely the crux.
I'm about 3000 miles away so I'm not 100% sure. I was told the Rambles has ice. I'm not sure how motivated anyone in WA is to drive 2 hours north of Whistler BC but it's ready for you.
We were hiking up the Snow lake trail and saw some epic torrential waterfalls. At least 7 of them coming down strong. 54 degrees and no ice to be had yet. Water, water is everywhere!
