Does anyone know the model of this portaledge?
I just bought this ledge and fly and I was just trying to find out what year it was made, the model etc. Any advice or known problems with the ledge or fly I should know about? Any info would be awesome!! |

Also the fly cap is damaged and has some holes that the water will definitely find a way through. This fly is old I'm guessing and I'm not sure of it's waterproofing anymore. Any suggestions on how to seal the fly cap and what type of waterproof fabric spray I should use to rewaterproof it? Is that even possible? |
Looks like an A5 double or an A5 alpine-double (I have one of these)? |
By the original A5 company, the north face merger or the current A5? |
you can get Polyurethane for sealing tent floors from McNett Floor Poly |
I just read somewhere that even though they use the same names for their portaledges throughout the years, depending on what year they were made they used different materials and construction methods. |

That is a A5 alpine double, original Deucey design. |

Runout Customs makes portaledges very similar to the A5 design. You may be able to buy a new fly from them that fits your ledge. runoutcustoms.com/Portaledg… |

Can't name a specific product, but Nikwax or Grangers will have something to waterproof the fabric. |

Just got out of work. Geeze all you guys are like encyclopedias!! Thanks for the info everyone. I'll get to waterproofing it, hang it in a tree and pay a neighbor kid to spray me with water and throw rocks at me all night to test it out |
