Nice Ice Climbing Silo- South of Chicago! Celebrating our 10th Season of Ice!

Last weekend's "Ice Fest", our first attempt, cost at least 150 bucks to get the whole driveway and some parking plowed out for guests. It's wind swept farm area, off a back road that is gravel full of potholes. Nobody making a profit here so far this season. Kinda like the old 'Ice pit' membership where those private members kept the place in shape, plowed lots, and operating for several years.DITTO.... so lay off |

I have to admit I enjoy the pictures once in a while. But it ain't A. Constantine's board. If it was me and out-of-towners wanted to make the occasional comment, I'd try to overcome the hardship thereof. |

OK, Midwest Ice Climbers: HOW ABOUT A PRIVATE CLINIC AT THE SILO on the ice FOR 6 HRS WITH WILL GADD??!! |

Will was pretty impressed with this home made ice tower,,met his approval and he heavily suggested to climbers in general that they can hone' their ice skills, technique, screw placement practice, and much more very well on ice like this. Very glad he was able to come out and enjoy a day here. Hope all those MP haters out there can accept his vote of confidence. |

Don't know if MP site has been down for hours, I've not been able to upload this since late last night. |

You started posting silo stuff there awhile back. :) |

Who ever is smiling the most is climbing the best ice - id be stoked to climb that if i lived there! Most of us in Colorado are not jack waggons... Have fun |

Superb ice conditions yet, still short sleeve Hawaiian shirt weather,,,and wild overhangs to tackle. Be there tomorrow at 8AM to continue possibly some of our last ice of the season. Keep in touch via MP for any who may have an interest in coming down next weekend IF we have ice left. |

Bump reminder,,,,probably last chance to climb good ice is tomorrow...10AM and on. Schedule a time with Juggler and I'll be over there to open up the place. Spring busy coming up, so we will probably not rebuild the ice as it melts off this week. It's still over 4 ft thick in most sections.....so get out on a cool Saturday if you need. |
