Just ordered a new Pika Ibis and Josh responded with the following:

"...Btw I have a batch of Ibis2, Ibis3+ and a new Ibis 4+ in the works!! First new Pika product in over a decade!!!

Why does the medium size have a less aggressive point?

And the small has a narrowing of the shaft that's going to lead to stress fractures if repeatedly loaded.

A piece of steel that's supporting body weight? I'd imagine that you'd have to load it hundreds of thousands to millions of times to get it to stress fracture.

Could be a fun problem to do. Let's have the dimensions and the steel specs!

Yes , it looks like the old design had a 90 degree twist at the tie off point to lie flush with the rock ... why was that removed in the new design ?

very true but there is two very different designs. I have both and the non forged ones in the top photo are never going to look like the one in my photo. I'll post a side by side photo of them when I get home.
