Carribeener Pro

I was climbing the other day and found a cool place to slot a quickdraw for protection, I didn't even place any gear, just slotted the one end in a hole and then clipped the other side. Worked perfect but I was wondering who else does this? Can you use carribeener as pieces of protection like gear?

OK , seriously, if the hole in the rock is small enough to clear the gate of a 'biner, I'd guess it is not very strong.(maybe limonite-iron chunks at the Red would hold)... But if you find a nice big hole where you can pass a sling and have maybe 6 inches of thick rock or more to hold you, I'd go for the natural pro'. Hope this helps out a real climber or a troll.

I can think of a lot of keyholes where a binder is as good as anything else.

I've been belayed up pitch 4 of cloud tower in Red Rocks off of a carabiner chock and a #1 equalized. Wasn't the best, but better than nothing.

Maybe we misunderstood and it was all about a resident of the Carribean, thus a Carribeener'. Could be looking for a Jamaican or Cuban climbing partner for all we know.

Yeah, I did that just a few months ago--hooked the 'biner over a flake, it was the only pro on a 20 foot traverse. The photo cut off right at the 'biner but you can still see how it worked.

By the way, the girl on the high line looks like Ilana Marcus.
