I just visited Frankenjura for the first time and was really excited to share our experience of the place that birthed "redpoint" and the wold's first 9a (5.14d). You can read about our weekend adventure here: Frankenjura - Thrillseekers Anonymous .

A special thanks to MP Frankenjura admin, Shawn, for the pre-trip email correspondence.

Cheers,
ilana

A correction;- the Southern Frankenjura is a completely different area lying to the west of Regensburg and south of Nurnberg, the climbing being centred on the Altmuhltal. The Northern Frankenjura is where you went to.

Thanks, you are correct - we went to Northern Frankenjura on that trip. A little typo I've been too busy climbing to correct until now (a good problem to have). Thanks for reading and for the correction!

Cheers,
ilana
