so i don't have a speed buckle harness my self but i do have a belt that tightened the same way.So as i was tightening my belt the other day it popped and released and i immediately thought of a few recent MP posts and i have figured out why there fail here are some pics this is the belt just normal
pulled tight
ok now notice as i pull out on the belt the first loop is crossing over the back loop
And when i let the tension go this is what happens. the front loop is now the back loop and the belt is released now i know the harness are made much better but this is my theory as to what is happening
added: the belt buckles are metal. its just the angle that they are pulled at when loaded for the most part backwards

for a speed adjust harness to do that the metal buckles would have to be stressed so much that they deformed and/or broke. That is not what has been happening...

I see your problem is that your pants don't fit right there too big. I sugest you down size to a smaller size.

Hey OP, it might be time for a new pair of undies. Those ones have a hole in them. Thank goodness I didn't accidentally get a glimpse of your nether regions.

You might want to return that belt, might put you on the predators list if it fails near a school.

Not nearly the kind of flat plates as used in most speed buckles...plus many of them have a permanently sewn doubled over endpiece so it cannot be unbuckled; just loosened.

Damn, you guys are really slamming jafrizza here. He's just posting his theory. Good job jafrizza, I like your theory, but don't think it will prove to be true. It's good to get feedback.

I don't think this test will be entirely legitimate until you go climbing with this belt in place of your harness and see if it works.
