This video clip should spread some STOKE !! |

Yesterday while sailing at Hookipa Boujmaa Guilloul attempted to do the first ever triple forward loop and it went real bad! According to one eye witness it was the biggest jump he had ever seen. Bouj lost control after his second rotation and landed hard hitting his head and was knocked unconscious. He was still hooked in to his harness lines and under his sail and absorbing the pounding surf. Fortunately Klass was sailing close by and untangled him and started CPR. The pound to the chest revived him and he started breathing and regained consciousness while still in the water. The Maui County Life Guards at Hookipa responded quickly with the jet ski. If Klass had not been there as fast as he was things could have gone differently. |

Maalaea Bay: 2+ Hawaiian Lahaina: 2-3+ Hawaiian South shores - A new south to SSW swell will be breaking Thursday...lasting into the weekend. This will be followed by more new SSW swell energy as we move into next week. This sort of report get's me REALLY STOKED! As soon as I get my chores done I'm going searching! With this swell direction we could have some major island blocking but may be not. |

I had a relatively short but very productive (glassy) long board session at Woodies yesterday afternoon. |

Sick Matt Meola video! Olaf, this is the best thread on here! (if there weren't so many people bickering over the minutia of climbing gear, maybe the climbing threads would be better, but...) |

Thanks Peter it's posts like yours that keep me believing in this thread! I'll keep an eye out for your buddy Bill. BTW: you have a cool last name. |

rmsusa wrote: Watch out in the mangroves! For a while there Edward, I was sure that you were stalking them! We have had a busy week around here. I recently took over the jobs of lead instructor for Wind Surfing School Of Maui and co-editor of Maui Ocean Sports Magazine along with those duties we have had good ocean conditions on both sides of the island. At first I was cautious of taking the instructor position but when their lead instructor dropped the ball on a very important client I stepped up to the plate and found that it's really quite rewarding to share the knowledge that I have acquired over the past two and a half decades of wind surfing in the best spots in the mainland U.S., Hawaii and Mexico. The week started out with some quality sailing with my current client Libor of the Czech Republic who is on Maui with his family living their dream vacation. Which includes refreshing his wind surfing skill after a long break. Taking care of attending to family and business obligations. Here's Libor ripping! He is hooked in and back in the straps after only three sessions. We have had some excellent s/w shore wave conditions and I caught a couple of sessions at one my favorite spots. --- Invalid image id: 107111360 --- I was surfing and sharing a ride with my buddy Mark of the Pacific Whale Foundation. Mark wanted to stop off at a couple of out of the way points of interest on the way home here's couple of images of the detours we made. --- Invalid image id: 107111389 --- On the way home we stopped of at my friend and windsurfing partner Mark Johnstone's to wish him a happy birthday. (Mark is the keyboard player for the Mick Fleetwood Blues Band)Look for my interview with Mark in an upcoming post in MOSM mauiwindsurfinglessons.com/ mauioceansports.blogspot.com/ mickfleetwoodblues.com/ |

The wind surfer in this video is Jason Polakow. He is a former world champion on the PWA world tour and still one of the top wave sailors in the world. When I see Jason in town or at the beach he always has a moment to chat and a great attitude. youtube.com/watch?v=4dW_MU1… |
