Featured Trad, Sport, Bouldering, and other popular climbing routes and climbing areas Tolimán, Querétaro.
Slab leading to highly featured rock above. Three bolted routes. From Bernal follow trail to Chichid´do. After passing trail for El Filo Noroccidental take next right on traversing trail. After 80-100 meters turn right on minor trail and head uphill to the base of the slab.
This area has a boulder field with over a hundred problems from V0 to V12, and dozens of single pitch routes on three enormous boulders and the Peña itself, along with several multipitch routes. Most rock quality is solid, but be prepared for loose and hollow rock features. From Bernal: Follow Calle Corregidora until a place marked "El Puerto" on Google Maps. There will be a large boulder in the middle of the parking lot, head into a small group of trees until you see a wooden gate.* The trail will take you to either the routes on the back of the Pena itself or will pass through the various boulders until you reach the Chichidho campground. Each boulder is clearly marked by red text markers.*Currently (06/2025) the gate has a padlock. You should navigate to www.chichidho.com/visita to pay 70 pesos by credit card; then you receive a confirmation code that you text to +524424540424 and they will send you the combo to the padlock. No phone signal there at the gate, and it took 45 minutes for them to respond to the text today, so plan ahead!
This boulder is relatively isolated from other climbs, but is incredibly accessible and likely one that you'll walk by on your way to and from other areas. It has great climbs on all sides (at a variety of levels). Descend by either down climbing the slab V1, or selecting a site to drop off. From the main parking lot, head south, downhill along the trail. It is less than a 1-minute walk, and will be the first boulder you see.
